Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1:
- Kunming to Lijiang: Group meets at Kunming and we have a welcome lunch. We take an afternoon flight to Lijiang. On arrival, we meet our local guide and transfer to the hotel.
- Day 2:
- Lijiang: We visit Baisha village in the morning together with a interesting exhibition established by local young artists. After lunch, we drive to see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and spend the whole afternoon there.
- Day 3:
- Lijiang to Zhongdian via Tiger Leaping Gorge: Morning we visit Black Dragon Pool and Dongba Museum. Afterwards, we drive from Lijiang to Zhongdian via Tiger Leaping Gorge, and take an easy hike at Tiger Leaping Gorge. Continue the drive to Zhongdian and picnic lunch along the way. Arrive in Zhongdian in the late afternoon. Join the square dance in the evening.
- Day 4:
- Zhongdian: We spend the morning in Songzanlin Monastery and join a morning praying. Afternoon visit Pudacuo National Park.
- Day 5:
- Zhongdian: Get up early in the morning to the Shangri-La Botanical Garden, where we see lots of alpine plants. Afterwards, we move to Heavenly Lake and have a BBQ lunch with breath-taking scenery. In late afternoon we return to Zhongdian downtown and catch a late dinner. We have a Tibetan Singing and Dancing Party tonight.
- Day 6:
- Zhongdian to Kunming: This morning we visit a local Nixi village to learn pottery making. After lunch, we have some free time in the Old Town for last minute shopping before driving to the airport and fly to Kunming. Trip ends.
