Culture Heritage Protection

In many aspects, we also work with Beijing Culture Heritage, which is a registered Chinese NGO that works at the grass roots level to assist local communities to preserve tangible and intangible local culture through training and capacity building. Key constituencies with which CHP works include community residents and leaders, government officials, media, students, and legal experts. CHP’s core competency lies in cultural heritage law and policy. With the assistance of experts in various fields, it will develop additional core competencies as it grows in strength and resources in future years.

Large portions of China’s rich cultural heritage are at risk due to low awareness and poor enforcement of heritage protection laws, and to short-sighted policies that sacrifice cultural rights and values to short-term economic gain. Chinese government laws and policies in the field of cultural heritage protection are generally well-conceived, but are not well understood and are often poorly implemented. CHP has been established to address these issues.

Unfortunately, poverty is still a main problem in many rural places in China. Such situation happens a lot in Southwest China, and education opportunity ranks in the first thing as kids, especial the little girls are kept at home helping with the house work or hand-making in order to support the family. Beijing this circumstance, we are working on educational projects in some villages in Guizhou and Yunnan aiming on bringing little kids back to school.

As seen on the right side, the children are working on handicrafts and we will help them to sell those stuffs out as part of the donation, all the income from this will return to local community.
